From a young age, I have been deeply fascinated by foot care, particularly for those who cannot adequately manage their foot health. After obtaining my Nail Technician license in 2005, I became aware of a critical gap in the industry between “beauty” and “necessity.” I was particularly troubled by the lack of essential foot and nail care information reaching our senior population, especially regarding infections caused by improper toenail trimming. What concerned me most was the pain associated with the neglect of routine foot care. This concern ultimately led me to my current path.
In 2019, I earned my Onyfix certification, which enables me to offer toenail correction services, providing relief to countless individuals suffering from ingrown and involuted toenails. Alongside toenail correction, I also offer evidence-based and FDA-approved foot care products from PodoExpert, which are safe for diabetics, those undergoing chemotherapy, and children.
As a Certified Medinail Advanced Nail Technologist and Master Nail Technician, I understand the importance of sterilizing all tools and implementing safe practices. My advanced disinfection protocols using an autoclave have earned me SSR accreditation from the Medinail Learning Center.
In 2020, I launched my toenail correction services at my Idaho salon, Akamai Body Works. One of the greatest benefits of my work is the referral process; I bridge the gap between doctors and their patients (my clients). My compassion for others’ comfort and safety extends beyond my credentials as an Advanced Nail Technologist; I genuinely care for those in need.
